A visit by the very famous astrophysicist, Director General of the European Southern Observatory (ESO), Professor Xavier Barcons. It is ESO that operates the most spectacular observatories in the world!

Programme
Opening of the exhibition: at 10:00 a.m., the Professor will open the fascinating exhibition on light “Un Universo de Luz”.
Public lecture: at 10:30 a.m., the public will be invited to attend a lecture on “ESO: 60 Years of Astronomy Breakthroughs and Looking Forward.” The professor will share his insights on ground-breaking astronomy breakthroughs and the exciting future of space exploration in a very accessible way.
Professor Xavier Barcons is known for his expertise in active galaxies and X-ray cosmology. As Director-General of ESO, he is responsible for the world’s most impressive telescopes, such as VLT, ALMA and E-ELT.
