Molėtai Astronomical Observatory invites you to public events on August 12-13
The events are presented by the Europlanet consortium and the Polish Institute in Vilnius – Instytut Polski w Wilnie
August 12 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Aarhus University astronomer Hans Kjeldsen will give a lecture on space missions
August 12 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wojciech Burzynski, an educator from the Polish Association of Amateur Astronomers (PTMA), will give two lectures in English: about the biography of Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, the most interesting moments of his life and scientific work, and about the history of PTMA and the greatest achievements of its members. The announcements will be complemented by daily observation of the Sun with the LUNT ST 60/500 telescope.
August 13 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. PTMA educator’s presentation in Polish, which will consist of two parts: a multimedia part – a lecture about the biography of the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, the most interesting moments of his life and scientific work, and a practical part – safe observation of the Sun.
