Access to the conference by air
For most international travellers it is best to go to Vilnius airport (IATA airport code VNO), "Oro uostas" in Lithuanian. Many international airlines have cheap direct flights there. Vilnius airport is very close to the city. To get from the bus to the conference venue there are several options

By the airport shuttle of the venue
Take the airport shuttle offered by the hotel. This costs maximally EUR 20,-. You can book the shuttle with your registation form. Please fill in the flight number and the scheduled arrival time on the registration form. This is a good alternative if you arrive very late.

By public transport
To go to the conference venuefrom the airport there are two possibilities, bus 88 (less frequent but no change necessary) and bus 3G with change to bus 12 (every 15 minutes). The station is 50 m from the exit of the arrival section of Vilnius airport (slightly to the left)

Bus 88 (less frequent)
Take bus 88 from the airport (to the left opposite the airport building) to the station "Vokečių gatve" (12 stops, journey time 22 minutes, name sounds like "Woe-catch-you"). Walk 100 m forward (in the direction of the bus). Turn sharp left onto Sv. Ignato gatve before the "Mad Dog" pub". 100 m ahead after the "Meat Lovers pub" turm right into Totorių gatve. After 200 m the hotel will be on te left.(Total walking distance 400 m). Tickets can be bought at the driver for EUR 1,- and EUR 0,50 for students.

Bus 3G + 6 or 12 (more frequent)
Take the express bus 3G from the airport ( to the busstop "Mikalojaus Konstantino Čiurlionio" (6 stops, journey time 12 minutes). Walk 50 m back (opposite the direction of the bus). Turn left onto Jono Basanavičius gatve at the big intersection. 50 m ahead of you on the right there is a bus stop "Algirdo". From there take Trolleybus number 6 or 12 to station "Reformatų" (2 stops, 6 minutes). From there walk 50 m forward (north, in the direction of the bus) and turn right into Klaipėdos gatve. Turn left after 150 m onto Vilniaus gatve. After 150 m turn right into Liejyklos gatve. After 150 m turn right onto Totorių gatve, the entrance to the hotel is immediately to the right (Total walking distance 500 m). Buses operate very frequently (every 12-15 minutes). Tickets can be bought at the driver for EUR 1,- and EUR 0,50 for students.

Please note: There are 2 kinds of buses in Vilnius, the ordinary ones and the electrical "trolleybuses". Confusingly, they have the same numbers, but "Bus 12" goes a different route than "Trolleybus 12". To plan bus journeys in Vilnius you might also use the Vilnius route planner. There is also a small tourist office inside Vilnius airport arrival hall to the left of the main exit.

By taxi
To avoid being cheated it is best to take a Vilnius airport approved taxi. Please follow the link and read the instructions carefully before you board. Furthermore: Do only board taxis from the official Vilnius airport taxi rank outside the building. Do not follow any drivers to parking places - the probaility to be cheated is quite high if you do so. Normally a taxi ride wil not cost you more than EUR 15,-.

Access by train
This is an alternative mostly for participants from Poland and Belarus. The trains stop at Vilnius Central Railway station. For schedules of the trains check the excellent web site of the German Railways (in 6 languages) or the one of Lithuanian Railways.

To go to the conference venue, take Trolleybus number 2 (stops are just outside the railway station building on the right of the man exit to station "Reformatų" (3 stops, 10 minutes). From there walk 50 m forward (in the direction of the bus) and turn right into Klaipėdos gatve. Turn left after 150 m onto Vilniaus gatve. After 150 m turn right into Liejyklos gatve. After 150m turn right onto Totorių gatve, the entrance to the hotel is immediately to the right (Total walking distance 500m). Buses operate very frequently (every 12-15 minutes). Tickets can be bought at the driver for EUR 1,- and EUR 0,50 for students.

Access by bus
Since buses are very cheap, this is an alternative for students from Eastern Europe as well as for those wanting to spend more time in the Baltic States. Eurolines and Lux Express are bus operators offering connections from Europe (espeacially Eastern Europe) to Vilnius. Buses are often very comfortable with free Wifi (do not expect it to be working always though). These buses stop at Vilnius bus station.

To go to the conference venue, first walk through the bus station building out and then turn right. You will see the railway station on the right soon. From the square in front of the railway station railway station (the bus stop to the left if you face the main entrance) take Trolleybus number 2 exit to station "Reformatų" (3 stops, 10 minutes). Buses operate very frequently (every 12-15 minutes).Tickets can be bought at the driver for EUR 1,- and EUR 0,50 for students.

Access by own car
This is only recommended for people planning a longer holiday in the region. Parking is difficult in Vilnius, the hotel has a garage, though, which has to be paid for (around EUR 10,- per day). The address of the hotel is Totoriu str. 23
