Observing this week The plan is as follows Monday night: 2030 Lecture hall: Information about the observing program Thereafter 3 groups of 6 people each spending one hour at each telescope for introduction to the instruments and its use For the period Tuesday - Friday, we make smaller groups for real observations if weather permit. A. Maksutov 50/30 telescope: Introduction to CCD photometry - Learning the technique. On the telescope the CCD-camera can only be used with anually changeable filters and shutter. The field is quite large, and considerably undersampling is expected. Instructor: Algiris Kazlauskas Two teams of 3 students per night. Day: Tu W Th Fr First team observe 2100-2300 A1, A3, A5, .. Second team observe 2300-0100 A2, A4, A6 .. Late night observations may also be arranged. Friday may be used for teams that are clouded out earlier in the week. B. 63 Cm telescope: Classical 2 channel photometry Instructor: Julius Sperauskas Sceduling is done the same way as for the Maksutov with teams B1, B2 .... C. The 165 cm telescope: Continuous 3 channels Photometry Instructor: Edmundas Meistas One team per night, starting at 2100 Tue C1, ....F: C4 Observing in the period Sept 4-10 Classical photometry will be scheduled on the 63 Cm telescope, related to Assignment no 2, The CCD-camera will be mounted on the 165 cm telescope and deep sky work may be possible.
